SMCV10 What I Took Home
Social Media Camp Victoria 2010 http://socialmediacamp.ca/
It's been 24 hours since the conference wrapped up (already!) so rather than spending days on composing a magnum opus about what I took away from the conference, I decided to just bang it out while the thoughts are fresh. I went to the conference expecting to learn about the most effective techniques and latest technologies in social media. And I did. There was much more though: I came away with new friends, contacts, knowledge, inspiration, and a reminder that social media is about people.
Moment in Time. A vignette, a eulogy.
Due to circumstances, I did not get the opportunity to pay tribute to my father at the funeral. Since he was so sport-minded, and instilled a passion for sport in me, I thought it fitting to share it here.

Gearing up: Salt Spring Is. Sprint Triathlon
This Sunday, June 13, 2010 is the first ever Salt Spring Island Triathlon hosted by the Rainbow Road Pool. I’m excited to be competing for a number of reasons: this is my first ever solo triathlon [Two years ago, I was the swimmer in a relay team at the Squamish Triathlon] and my first event as a SUGOI brand champion. It’s also at ‘home’ so being familiar with the pool and the routes will be a nice luxury. It’s a perfect place to get my feet wet, as it were, to work myself up to an Olympic-distance tri.
